Me puedo pasar de mis feeds en GReader, a una página al azar de la inet, y luego a leer la genial idea que cientos de usuarios de Amazon tuvieron al hacer reviews de un simple lápiz Bic.
Los invito a perder su tiempo (oferta válida sólo si están en vacaciones como yo, la gerencia no se hace responsable por procrastinaciones evitativas de trabajo remunerado).
This BIC Crystal ballpoint pen worked for a couple of days for me. I was able to boot it up by removing the cap and write some letters. The lack of features aggravated me a bit. As other users pointed out there is no spell check, or drivers bundled with the package. But I was able to make due. It wrote in very wonderful blue ink. I did notice that the more I used the pen the slower it got. I kept rebooting it by placing the cap and taking it off. This did little to help me. I am assuming the registry is getting too big, but due to the lack of instructions I cannot access the registry. I wrote “regedit” thousands of times on a paper, but the Registry Editor never started. I left the pen laying on the table for hours, but the screen saver NEVER once came on. (I like the scrolling markee but alas it never started.) i tried to interface it with an old dictionary, but I could not find even one USB or serial port. Then after only three days of use, the ink came out of the pen and spilled all over the paper. Tech support could not help me with the Blue Screen of Death. I am fed up with this pen and will never use it again.
I HATE IT.

No….no es uno de mis frecuentes posts melanólicos sobre el pasado. Es una expresión bastante común “por acá” y que hoy me llamó mucho la atención.
Hoy fui a almorzar a uno de mis lugares favoritos, la Librería Byblos, y quien atiende la parte de la cafetería, que tendría escasamente alrededor de 20 años, me trata de “mi niña” cuando me atiende, cuando me toma la orden y me la viene a dejar a la mesa. Yo había sido “niñeada” por otras personas antes, siempre mujeres (por lo menos!) pero mayores que yo…ahí lo entendía como una deformación de un sentimiento maternal, esgrimido como una forma de hacer más cálida la interacción al brindar un servicio o un intercambio que de otra forma sería absolutamente instrumental.
Debo decir que se siente efectivamente mucho más cálido. Si un hombre me niñeara o me m’hijiteara sería muy desagradable, pero viniendo de mujeres, todo bien.
(ah…si…me encantaría ser la niña de alguien, pero de verdad…si… no me resistí a llorar un poco)

En mi vida, hay ciertos sentimientos y sensaciones que están ligados a idiomas…cosas que he experimentado mayormente en inglés o en español, o en lenguaje de señas se reeditan en esos idiomas cada vez que me suceden. Mi cableado está modificado para que reaccione de esa forma.
Con touriste estaba conversando que los idiomas tienen onda o no…digamos que francés tiene una innegable carga de seducción, alemán es el idioma de las grandes ideas, etc. Según yo el inglés no tenía gracia, sino que era simplemente funcional.
Hace unos meses leía un artículo de psicología en duelo que decía que en muchas culturas tienen palabras para sentimientos complejos que otras culturas no los tienen, por lo que no podemos asumir que tienen esos sentimientos. Si a una persona le tocaba querer explicar el sentimiento para el cual no había palabra, era bastante probable que cayera en una sensación de desajuste importante.
Los sentimientos son construcciones culturales (a diferencia de las emociones básicas)
Y luego me miro a mí misma y veo que el mayor problema que tengo en este momento es que no sé que es lo que entiendo por “I love you” … cosa que nosotros decimos distinguiendo entre te quiero y te amo.
a ver… probablemente no tengan tanta idea de lo que me emociona en este momento…y por eso les importará menos que un pepino…pero hay SPSS para Linux!!
SPSS es un programa de análisis estadístico que usamos en ciencias sociales, hasta hace poco sólo disponible para Win y para Mac basados en procesadores PPC, pero ahora, en su versión 16…viene con versión oficialísima para linux (es un mounstruo de programa, no funcionaba con emuladores) y para mac sobre procesadores Intel (ohh…o sea que si podría pensar en upgradear?… como dijo mi amigo normativo…sólo habrá que esperar a que los usuarios de Macbooks se compren el Air y recoger sus sobras).
¿Por qué me interesa? Porque de verdad era el único software que me ataba a otro SO (soy feliz con mi mac, no me malentiendan…pero ahora puedo pasar mi tarro del trabajo a 100% linux en vez de dual boot)
